Sugar Free Banana Chocolate Oat Slice
Forever on the quest for a deliciously healthy sweet treat that my toddler (and I) can enjoy, guilt free, I have created this Banana Oaty Slice. It is gooey and chocolatey and very satisfying. It is also free from refined sugar, wheat and dairy – bring it on!
1.5 mashed bananas
1/3 cup apple sauce (1 med-large apple, stewed and puréed)
3 pitted dates
1.5 cups oats
¼ cup almond milk
¼ cup raisins
1 tbsp good quality cocoa powder (or raw cocoa for adults)
2 heaped tsp Tahini (nut, seed butters or a mixture also works well)
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp agave and a handful of chopped nuts (optional)
Stew the apple, with the dates, in a small pan with a splash of water. Blitz. Mix all the other ingredients together and bake in a lined, square tin (10″x10″) at 170 for 20 mins until just firm. Slice and enjoy! Lasts for about a week in the fridge.
